Wow Jennifer! What a story! By the way, I gave it to my husband too - luckily he is not even close to the degree of disabilities and pain but it hovers over us like a dark cloud!

I am planning to blog about the connection to autism, and have been gathering information - would you share more of your daughter’s story?

I have known about this since 1996 when my now husband contracted Lyme from me. I didn’t know that I had Lyme at the time b/c I was misdiagnosed but he got the same thing I had! I’ve had chronic Lyme since 1991 and he’s had it since 1996. I had my daughter (while undergoing treatment) in 2005. She has Lyme and co-infections and has been getting treatment since she was 2 which is also when she was diagnosed as being on the Autism Spectrum. Have you done a post about Lyme Induced Autism yet? She’s basically off the spectrum now thanks to Lyme treatment (changes in abx would result in huge surges in language and abilites) but she still isn’t 100% in that realm. Btw… She is completely unvaccinated from birth and NEVER gets sick. Has never had a super high fever since starting Lyme treatment, no ear infections, stomach viruses, pink eye, flus… Of course we get sick here and there. She’s been in special schooling situations since she was 2 so she’s been exposed to everything… even Chicken Pox.

Thanks for the post and I hope that you are able to eradicate your infection before it becomes more chronic. That is TRULY shocking. I had a feeling that Lyme ‘could’ be sexually transmitted but always held the belief it would be from male to female. The evidence that borrelia shows up in vaginal fluids is very alarming and the fact that this has been reported to the CDC and NOTHING has been done to warn people is even more horrendous. Little wonder the disease is beginning to outstrip cases of Aids. Coupled with the cases of Lyme being spread through the placenta, the medical system really must take a stronger hold in protecting its citizens.
