Lyme: A Disease Tsunami According To Dr. Joseph Jemsek In “The Power Of Truth”

Lyme: A Disease Tsunami According To Dr. Joseph Jemsek In

Thanks to the courageous voices from an ever increasing number of chronically disabled Lyme victims, and with the incredibly  successful distribution and promotion of Under Our Skin, the general public is beginning to question conventional approach to diagnosis and treatment of Lyme.

Recently, Tina Garcia, the founder of a public charity called Lyme Education Awareness Program (also known as L.E.A.P. Arizona), interviewed Dr. Joseph G. Jemsek, and wrote a two part article called, “The Power of Truth.”

With so much mis-information and wild speculation, it is imperative to read this medical article by a practicing, licensed medical doctor - if only to feel some support for those of us who have had our sanity questioned when sharing our dreaded diagnosis: “Lyme Disease.”

First, a distinction must be made between those who are infected with Lyme disease and treated properly (prompt and aggressive antibiotics), and those of us with “Chronic Lyme Disease” - defined by most as having symptoms for over one year - or “Neurological Lyme Disease” - defined as having a Lyme infection in the central nervous system.

Unfortunately the former quickly falls into the latter which is why so many of us continue to speak out in spite of ridicule or even hostile opposition.

When you are diagnosed with AIDS, the community wraps you with compassion and care.

When you are diagnosed with Lyme, the community questions your sanity and avoids you like the plague. [NOTE: I have been blessed with compassion and care in spite of three grueling years of disability and many years of prior "mystery" ailments, operations and emotional fragility.  But most are not blessed as I have been.]

Please read the following interview by Tina Garcia.

Many thanks to Ms. Garcia!

Tina’s organization, L.E.A.P. provides education to the public about tick-borne diseases and financial assistance to patients for treatment of their choice and necessities of life. The demand for financial assistance is overwhelming and difficult to keep up with. L.E.A.P. gratefully welcomes all private tax-deductible donations to further efforts aimed at helping patients obtain the treatment they so desperately need.

I am a patient of Dr. Jemsek’s and he is a brilliant physician. He knows lyme disease inside and out and that convention lyme treatment does not work. What you wrote about those with aids compared to those with lyme is so true. We lymies need to hang in there and support one another because many of us don’t get support elsewhere. Thank you for your blog and all your updates on lyme.
