If you had the time to listen to the fascinating interview presented on this blog last week between Dr. Mercola, Dr. Klinghardt and chronic Lyme disease, you may have heard Dr. Klinghardt’s assessment of the ultimate havoc that radioactive EMF (Electro-Magnetic Fields) have on our health.

Today, every person on the planet is enveloped in radioactive electromagnetic field (EMF) pollution or “electro-smog.”

Dr. Andrew Weil states that“Electromagnetic pollution (EMF) may be the most significant form of pollution human activity has produced in this century, all the more dangerous because it is invisible and insensible.”

Where does it come from?

For starters, let’s look at your home.

This extract (100 mg) is combined in capsule form with a Chinese herb, Astragalus membranaceus (200 mg), in a base of rice powder. The product was developed by Quantum Research, Inc. a biotech research company that develops nutritional supplements and homeopathic remedies, of Scottsdale, Arizona. The synergistic action of the extract with the Chinese herb helps to stimulate natural killer cell (NK) activity. In a population of 107 participants (59 females, 48 males, average age 53 years ranging from 17 thru 83) initial killer cell activity was 18 Lytic Units (a measure of killer cell activity) and the final killer cell activity was 246 Lytic Units, an average of 28.556 Lytic units increase per month, or an average of improvement as measured by killer cell activity of 1,267% per month.

By comparison, the average NK cell activity in the U.S. population is 20-50, whereas in a healthy population it is 150-225.

Accompanying this dramatic increase in Natural Killer T cell activity were vast improvements in the population of 107 consisting of 50% cancer patients, 30% chronic fatigue syndrome, and the remaining 20% a mixed bag of lupus, allergies, fibromyalgia, blood disorders, hepatitis C, colitis, chronic infections, recurrent infections, autoimmune diseases, and cervical dysplasia/metaplasia.

Average time of treatment was 13.2 months taking from 2 to 8 capsules daily.

Many LLDs will tell you it is impossible to get rid of chronic Lyme disease – the best we can hope for is functionality and minimizing the intensity and number of symptoms.

With the discovery of biofilms, we have come a huge step forward in our understanding of how to get rid of one major aspect of the disease that protects the spirochetes from antibiotics and allows the disease to remain firmly entrenched in our bodies…and now we have a way to destroy their “cover” and further reduce the bacteria load in our system and push the deadly invader out of cover where antibiotics, killing herbs and proven treatment protocols can work.

Sleep is a very important part of supporting your immune system too, and it is up to each of us to make sure our bodies get at least 8 hours to regenerate each night.  Melatonin and Gaba are two natural sleep aids, Gaba will also soothe the central nervous system protecting against anxiety and other symptoms that are caused by a damaged central nervous system.

Diet is also very important.  Some foods will assist keeping our immune system strong while other foods are worthless and even harmful.  Diet and the immune system will be covered in the next post.  Meanwhile, rather than relying only on IVIG treatments, it is important to do everything possible to support a healthy and strong immune system so that it can fight more effectively against chronic Lyme disease and the multiple co-infections that most often come with it.

Mice love cotton balls. They take the cotton to line their globes (nests) quicker than anyone would believe.

A company called Damminix has created a wonderful product (if you haven’t  already heard about it) called “Tick Tubes” which are essentially cotton balls covered with Permethrin ( a chemical used in equine bug spray). The mice carry the soft calls into their nests where the chemical kills hundreds and hundreds of ticks breaking the cycle of tick population growth and effectively reducing the risk of exposure to Lyme disease by up to 97%.

You can make these tasty mice treats at home by either spraying cotton balls with equine bug spay that lists Permethrin as an active ingredient, and/or buying some rotenone powder.

Take two ounces and dissolve in a gallon of water. Now take cotton balls, dunk them into the rotenone solution, and use tongs to place the soaked cotton balls at the end of your gardens, plantings, trees and wildlife edges. I suggest you do this at dusk to try to make sure your dog or cat can’t play with the cotton balls. In the morning, take a look at where you cotton balls were. Just about all will be gone.

Now the rotenone soaked cotton kills the ticks on the mice as the mice sleep away. Keeping the ticks off mice will protect you far better than shooting neighborhood deer.

Not only that, but some people don’t realize that although deer carry huge number of ticks over great distances spreading Lyme geographically, research has shown that more infected ticks are produced by “reservoir animals” (animals that actually infect ticks with the disease – deer do not) such as small animals like squirrels, chipmunks and most especially - 75% of Lyme is projected to be infected into ticks from common white footed mice.

According to “Yardeners Plant Problem Solver”:  “This concept is certainly attractive in that it is environmentally very specific and safe. Tests on Long Island, NY have shown that Damminix will reduce the number of infected deer ticks by more than 90% year after year.”

Not to mention most chemicals that kill ticks, harm wildlife as well. Damminix tick tubes can reach and kill deer ticks, before they are infected with the disease.”

So, it is my pleasure to introduce you to Dr. Jeffrey Maehr, certified nutritional microscopist.

In my 37 years dealing with natural health, I’ve run into everything from hangnails to cancer.  Naturally, my hope was to help people deal with their particular situations… providing advice, product and lifestyle suggestions, and the like.  In many cases, there often seemed to be “something missing” in sorting out the issues of cause and effect.

Lyme certainly is an “infective” agent, one that is first a “sub-clinical” infective agent as it ramps up and spread insidiously within the body.  No different than a cold… no symptoms at first, but then the symptoms arise even though the infective agent had been there doing its thing for days, weeks or months… maybe even years.

Most often, when someone has any particular agent at work, there are others that join in the process, thereby compounding the original problem.  Tick-born co-infections are obvious candidates, but another example is Candida , a yeast infective agent that, once established in the GI system, and spreads, usually encourages other things such as mold, fungus, virus to also take root.

The problem with all this is that these agents produce toxins that interfere with healing, stress the immune system, and many other direct attacks on overall health… multiple systems being compromised.  This process, ongoing, slowly reaches the level of “symptoms” but then often times most people try to address one aspect of the compound problem.  This minimizes the actual ability to overcome the degenerative changes.

If there are 3 enemies at work, and we fight one and ignore the others, we can’t expects to progress like we want to… discouragement and disappointment fuel clinical depression… after months or years of struggling.

In my work, especially over the last decade, I’ve seen how these sub-clinical agents are directly responsible for a host of health problems.  In fact, I personally believe they are directly related to most health problems, including cancer.  Even depression, arthritis, diabetes… have been linked to these agents.

So, that being said, what is the answer to this multi-faceted infection called Lyme disease?

Having neurological Lyme disease has been devastating financially as well as emotionally and physically.

Throughout the ups and downs of the disease, the internet has been my salvation – allowing me to get support from other sufferers and eventually allowing me to extend a helping hand too.

The beautiful silver lining of this horrible disease is the wonderful friendships that are forged through the shared experience of Lyme that has been made possible through this blog and through a handful of forums I participate in.

Some people are still able to work with their disease, but due to the extent of my pain and weakness, I have been bedridden for much of four years and have struggled to find ways to earn money on the internet.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the term, big companies pay individuals and small companies with websites or blogs (or through emails) affiliate commissions on their products.

Set Realistic Goals

First, be realistic about your expectations. You are sick, and it takes a lot of hard work to make money even when you are in the best of health.

If you focus on quality and honesty, you will succeed eventually.  For me, the most important thing is quality information, but for some it might be a genuine passion for a particular product or hobby.

What skills do you have?

There are many opportunities to manage projects from home at your own speed.

There are many freelance websites that allows you to bid on projects – both price and time – giving you flexibility to earn money without the usual pressures.  Elance.com, employmentspot.com and freelance.org are just a few of hundreds.  Whatever you did before your crash, you may be able to use those skills to make money at home.

Tell your story to your prospect to explain why you need more time. You’d be surprised at how much people enjoy helping others when they are given the opportunity.

What is nice about blogging is that you can write about a passion you can’t enjoy now due to your illness and still feel connected, or blog about Lyme like I do.  And you just keep blogging away…no deadlines or stress about anything technical – it’s easy!

We are sick, some of us very close to death, but we are not dead yet!  So while we are alive and fighting the horrible symptoms this disease brings, perhaps we can turn our tears to smiles when we can finally afford that special protocol we’ve been dreaming of – or help a friend who is even worse shape.

We don’t need any more darkness or stress in our lives so it is critical to be sure that there is a clear understanding before taking on any project that it is OK to sleep 3 days in a row if you need to, or resent the obligation one day while being thrilled the next day.
