Don’t Give Up – You’re Sick But You Don’t Have to Be Broke Too!

Throughout the ups and downs of the disease, the internet has been my salvation – allowing me to get support from other sufferers and eventually allowing me to extend a helping hand too.

The beautiful silver lining of this horrible disease is the wonderful friendships that are forged through the shared experience of Lyme that has been made possible through this blog and through a handful of forums I participate in.

Some people are still able to work with their disease, but due to the extent of my pain and weakness, I have been bedridden for much of four years and have struggled to find ways to earn money on the internet.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the term, big companies pay individuals and small companies with websites or blogs (or through emails) affiliate commissions on their products.

Where To Go If You Must Have Real Vitamin C?

The reason Vitamin C was chosen for such an important Lyme fighting role is that Vitamin C is truly a nutrient extraordinaire. Research abounds to show that vitamin C is a key vital substance required for many fundamental processes in the body, including the biosynthesis of collagen, the activation of the fat-transporting molecule, carnitine; it assists in the manufacture of the hormones adrenaline and cortisone; it acts as an electron transporter in many enzymatic reactions; it helps protect the integrity of blood vessels; it is a promoter of healthy gums, an important factor in radiation protection, a regulator of cholesterol levels, a free radical detoxifier and an immune-specific, boosting agent.

Is it True That Glyconutrients Cure Lyme Disease?

“My blood boils when I think about all the desperate people who have taken this stuff on,” said Hudson Freeze, a professor of glycobiology at the Burnham Institute for Medical Research in La Jolla, Calif.”"There are authentic, scientific studies that have looked at people drinking these kinds of materials, and it doesn’t really do anything except increase flatulence.”

The Miracle of 5-year old Italian Aloe Arborescens and Honey

This blog post comes from my personal research as I am trying to determine the best decision to make for my ravaged neurological system, depleted immunoglobulins, and in general my sub-normal immune system. My LLD, Dr. Katz, is a brilliant Neurologist who leaves nothing to chance, and one of the hard parts of his job is to determine the delicate balance that needs to be restored in each client. “IVIG is not a Lyme treatment.” he emphasizes to each Lyme sufferer.

The Great Vitamin Hoax, and How it Must Affect Your Protocol – Part Three

Beta carotene is a precursor the body can convert to vitamin A. Unfortunately, as a supplement, synthetic beta carotene is usually “stabilized” in refined vegetable oils. In this trans fatty acid form, oxidation occurs and the chemically “pure” beta carotene can no longer act as a nutrient, because it was changed. Almost all synthetic beta carotene is produced by the Swiss drug giant Hoffman-LaRoche.

This form can no longer be converted to vitamin A. The best it can be is worthless, and at the worst is toxic.

The Great Vitamin C Hoax – Part Two

Over 90% of ascorbic acid in this country is manufactured at a facility in Nutley, New Jersey, owned by Hoffman-LaRoche, one of the world’s biggest
drug manufacturers. Here ascorbic acid is made from a process involving cornstarch and volatile acids. Most U.S. vitamin companies
then buy the bulk ascorbic acid from this single facility. After that, marketing takes over. Each company makes its own labels, its own claims, and
its own formulations, each one claiming to have the superior form of vitamin C, even though it all came from the same place, and it’s really not vitamin
C at all.

The Great Vitamin C Hoax – Part One

Ascorbic Acid is Not Vitamin C.

For those of you who never read labels and just buy the bottles or jars that say “Vitamin C” (or something to that effect.) Well, you are about to learn more than you ever thought you needed to know about Vitamin C.

But trust me, you need to know!

So, ascorbic acid is not vitamin C.

Alpha tocopherol is not vitamin E.

Retinoic acid is not vitamin A.

And so on through the other vitamins.

Vast sums of money have been expended to make these myths part of Conventional Wisdom.

Transfer Factor Helps Boost Immune System

The buzz has been growing for awhile now, about this bizarre product that is created by transferring molecules that make up the immune system of chickens and cows while in utero, and utilizing them to supercharge our own depleted immune system.

Honey And Cinnamon For Chronic Lyme Disease?

IMMUNE SYSTEM: Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacteria and viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles to fight bacteria and viral diseases.

Lizards For Chronic Lyme Disease

Robert Lane, PhD, uncovered a curious quirk about Lyme disease back in 1998 and the black-legged ticks that carry it there: the infection rates for young ticks, while low, was three to four times higher than the rate in adult ticks.

Early experiments ruled out the possibility that antibodies produced by the lizard’s immune system were able to neutralize the Lyme disease bacteria.

The puzzle continued to interest Lane who found later that when young nymphal ticks feed on the fence lizards, the mysterious protein not only protects the lizard from infection — it actually leaches into the tick’s gut and kills the bacteria there. Additional lab tests showed that when infected nymphs fed on the lizards, and then metamorphosed into adult ticks, they were no longer infected.
